The Best of Boys' Life ReviewThis is a great collection of material from the nearly 100 years of Boys Life.
If there is any complaint, its that its too short. I wish this book was twice the size.
Heck, what I'd like to see is a full set of Boys Life on DVD. Its unfortunate that scouters today can't use the materials in Boys Life. Lot of good stuff that's still useful.

Teaching the Male Brain: How Boys Think, Feel, and Learn in School ReviewAs a former educator and a retired Managing Editor for Time-Life Education, it was refreshing to read a book for the educator that was practical and free of meaningless jargon. Abigail James writes a book for the classroom teacher that is clear, enjoyable, and full of nuggets of practical applications! Boys and girls learn differently -- and every classroom teacher discovers this truth. But our "one size fits all" education system does not take this into account. Instead of struggling with the "canned" approach to classroom management, a teacher can find creative and practical ways to do a better job with male and female learners. Ms. James bases her text on proven brain research, personal classroom experience in single-sex schools, and extensive quantitative research. Her humor and insight make this book an enjoyable read, as well as an informative one. I would recommend it highly to any classroom teacher.Teaching the Male Brain: How Boys Think, Feel, and Learn in School OverviewHelps teachers recognize sociological and neurobiological foundations of cognitive gender differences and develop differentiated teaching strategies that are responsive to boys' learning styles.

World Series (Odyssey) ReviewI first read this book as an eleven year old and it made a strong impression on my young mind. Now, as a 44 year old, I thought I would reread this book to take a stroll down memory lane. I wasn't disappointed. This story of the Brooklyn Dodgers in the late 1930's is the sequel to The Kid from Tomkinsvile. The "Kid" chonicles the season that leads up to the World Series and this book disects the seven game classic against the Indians. At eleven, I cheered and cried for the heroes in the story; and at 44 I did the same. This is a wonderful book, and a great look back into time, for any young boy or girl.World Series (Odyssey) OverviewRoy Tucker and his Brooklyn Dodgers teammates summon every ounce of their collective skill to fight for the greatest title in baseball--World Series champs.
